RagTag is everything, RagTag is nothing.
And yet, it manages to avoid being a lame porn-filled emo/punk/goth webjournal.
Sometimes life goes a little too fast for us to take it all in.
Sometimes we need to just lie back and examine who we are, where
we are, where we've been, where we're going,
and most importantly,
why.
RagTag doesn't really answer any of those questions, but with any luck, it'll
get YOU thinking.
Or at least using crazy straws.
Fuck, I love those things.
RagTag has a cast of dozens, but the most important recurring characters are
here for you to gawk at.

RagTag, the man hisself. Actually,
there's nothing really special about him at all. He's a little cynical
and a little out of place, but so is the rest of the world. He loves
baseball and carries a bat for completely unrelated reasons. He can
wear pink, purple, or magenta without getting self-conscious. RagTag
dislikes a lot of things in the world he sees as a waste of time, and
tries to focus on enjoying life to its fullest, regardless of what he's
supposed to do. |
Java is a depressed
old man. Well, he's not actually that old. But he's damn depressed.
He sees faults in everything, especially himself, and just can't lighten
up. The world is a sad, dark place for him, foreboding and inhospitable.
All of society's pretentious rules and outdated stigmas press hard on
Java, and every day brings more misery. |

HISTORY: During class once, I began making sketches of modular circle-headed people with only different hats to set them apart from each other. I decided upon looking them over that they would be great for a computer game, in which each would have a different power. I gave each a specific weapon. One has a baseball cap - RagTag. He gets the bat. Etc. I named them all - there were thirtysomething. I then spent hours trying to think up what kind of bodies would match their weird heads. Finally I gave up and decided they'd just float. When I got home and made all the heads on the computer, I realized it would be too hard to make a game after all, especially since I didn't even know what kind of game I was going to make. I gave up. Some time later, I came back to the heads and decided not to let them go to waste. I made comics with the little fellows -- the rest is history. |
